Speakers > Samantha BALLESTAAfter a few years as a laboratory technician specialising in cell culture in the private sector and then at the CPBE of the HCL's Groupement Hospitalier Est, I went back to school to obtain an EPHE diploma in Earth Sciences and Life. This enabled me to join the Lyon Cancer Research Centre as an engineer in 2019 to create a platform dedicated to the production and culture of organoids, with an initial focus on glioblastoma-derived models. Since 2021, I have been operational manager of the CRCL's 3D-ONCO platform, which offers human 3D models, both healthy and tumour-derived, from various cancer indications. More recently, the platform has incorporated more complex 3D models (spinal cord and cerebral niches) developed by the centre's teams. 3D-ONCO's main objectives are therefore to offer the scientific community robust, ready-to-use 3D pre-clinical models that have been characterised and standardised using the existing bio-bank or custom development, as well as a range of associated services. |
